Story of Rediscovery:  Too often does it feel as if each day, week, and year passes by in just the blink of an eye. This year, Stella Simon’s father celebrates his 90th birthday. He has lived each year of his life with unconditional devotion and love, celebrating 61 years of marriage, four children, ten grandchildren, and three great-children together. We at the Oakland Marriott City Center are thrilled to present Stella Simon’s family with a Dinner of Rediscovery to celebrate her father’s love and life. They will receive a banquet in the private dining room at the Oakland Marriott City Center.*  Congratulations Stella!


PRIZE:  Weekend of Rediscovery
WINNER: JC, San Francisco, Calif.
Story of Rediscovery:  The start of every relationship is frequently marked with butterflies and fireworks that oftentimes fade away over the years. After nearly two-and-a-half years together, JC and her partner have never lost that spark. The Oakland Marriott City Center is so very happy to provide JC and her partner with a Weekend of Rediscovery to help make sure those sparks never disappear. The couple will receive a two-night stay, double-occupancy, in the Presidential Suite of the Oakland Marriott City Center and $200 credit to be applied toward lodging or meals.* Congratulations!


PRIZE:  Event of Rediscovery
WINNER: Chalyn Coleman, Newark, Calif.
Story of Rediscovery:  Every chance meeting has the opportunity to become something greater. When Chalyn Coleman and her now fiance first met, they were both attending the same college. They did not see each other again until they both attended the same expo held at the Oakland Marriott City Center. When they saw each other for the second time, it was love at “second sight.” We are so touched and excited to commemorate Chalyn and her fiance’s chance encounter at the Oakland Marriott City Center with a true Event of Rediscovery: their wedding reception. The couple will receive their choice of banquet room for the event along with a $5,000 catering credit.* Best Wishes Chalyn!
